Meditation for Beginners

 Introduction

At the out set let us be very clear that meditation is nothing to do with any religion. Meditation is a process to cleanse up our soul. It is a spiritual process. Like, by doing physical exercise we energize our physical body, so as by practicing consistent meditation we energize our inner subtle body. Our physical body can not give the optimum result as per the purpose of its existence until unless the subtle body is strong enough.

Misconception The general conception that by doing meditation we can achieve anything. It is to be done by sitting straight, concentrating on the point between two eye brows. Controlling breaths etc. It is advisable to practice meditation like this but this not the only way and we should not be orthodox of it. Meditation should not be practiced as part of duty but should be done blissfully. It is upto you how you practice it but wholeheartedly.

Meditation is to be practiced with selflessness. No need to worry about the outcome. Then question arises why should we do meditation. The answer - it will automatically cleanse up our inner body. Our pleasure must be to cleanse up our subtle body. What's next will be taken care automatically. We have to go on without any expectations. Undoubtedly, it will be blessed with many surprise gifts. Again, we should not have any expectations on such gifts. Time will reveal the power of Meditation.

How to do Meditation Different methodologies may be adopted to practice mediation. We have to adopt the one which is best suit to our physical body and the environment. But it is advisable that it should be started under guidance. Because half knowledge is always dangerous. So, we must fetch a Guru under which blessings we can start meditation. The hidden mantra of fetching a real Guru is, once you are ready to start mediation, the Guru will appear. Yes! When the student is ready, the teacher appears. This has been happening in spiritual lives of our ancestors. Trends change with the passage of times. If you have patience, Guru will appear to you. Else other options are available now a days. Let's remind ourselves. Many at times it has happened in our life that when we think of someone or something, it appears in front of us. Is it coincidence or intuition-a mystery.

Meditation helps us for self awareness. If we can be aware of all present activities of each and every parts of our body, means the meditation is going on. For example, I am inhaling and exhaling and I am aware of each time I breathe in and breathe out. Suppose I am annoying on someone. Meditated mind will help me to know that I am annoying and I am aware that I am annoying. Result is my subconscious mind will guide me what to say and what not to say even if I in an annoying mood. Self awareness is the best meditation but it is possible only after consistent and prolonged practice. For the beginners , sitting quietly and chanting or concentrating on some point, candle flame meditation, music or sound meditation are advisable.

Cautions By practicing meditation we are inviting cosmic energies which is most precious. We should not let go it waste after putting so much efforts. But due to some wrong practice, all our efforts may go waste. The following points are to be kept in mind for those who are practicing meditation.

1. One should not have direct contact with the earth while meditating.

2. After meditation, do not have direct contact with the earth. While meditating, our all Chakras and other inner bodies get activated. If we have direct contact with earth soon after mediation, all the energies will be absorbed by earth. So, sit for a while on completion of meditation and leave the place only after our body temperature is felt synchronizing with room temperature.

3. Don't ever discuss your experience with anyone else except your Guru that to in the case where you feel not disclosing may put you in dilemma or harm you.

4. Meditation will bring you different experiences. Don't expect to repeat your experience of meditation. Let it experience you in its own way.

5. Don't eat anything soon after meditation. Give at least half an hour break. Because, during meditation, our body remains in different state. It takes time to revert to normal. If we take food soon after mediation we may have digestive or other problems.

Let the whole world live in Peace.
