Understanding the meaning of Humanity!

Once a child asked his father "what should be the aim in my life". In our general interaction we say an aimless person is like a driver less car. So your goal must be fixed at the very beginning itself. Further, in this existing competitive world, if a matured child puts up this question to anyone, undoubtedly, he or she will be looked suspiciously. But the father humbly narrated his son.

The father said, you need to be a human first. That is the main purpose of life. Without this any of your  aim will be an identification of yours. So you will be nothing without your identification. You will be nothing without the post, power, money  etc. If you learn the meaning of life you will remain a human while attaining other materialistic or social goals.

The child was confused and asked his father: I am a human by birth. Then why should I try to be a human being. When this question was answered by his father, all the confusions of the child were vanished.

The father explained in this manner: The meaning of human being infers who lives his life for the well being of others. He feels good when sees someone happy and becomes upset seeing someone sad. His humble presence changes the whole environment into calm and quiet. While normal people become sympathiser seeing others in trouble, he becomes the empathiser. He not only sees the pain of others but also feels it deeply. His visit make people more joy and peaceful. He speaks in such a manner that he remains in cool while soothing the anger of others. He never thinks to put others in trouble. Most importantly, he may have thousands of  problems, yet he comes forward when sees someone in trouble. In whatever profession he may be, his motto is to extend his helping hands in relative profession or within his reach. For say, if you are a doctor, your aim must be to give best treatment to your patients rather going after money. If you are a teacher, you must try your level best to give best education to your students and try to uplift them without thinking whether the students will help you later. If you are a politician, industrialist, bureaucrat or any public servant, you have wider scope to give your life for the well being of people and society at large. Read the journey of any - Gandhiji, Vibekananda, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Nelson Mandela....you will find one common character, that is they dedicated their lives for the well being of people. They live long even after their deaths. Your petty help will have great impact in other's lives. For example, if you see any old and blind person on the road who is struggling to cross the road, it is a matter of 5 minutes for you. But for them it is really a great help. Gradually, when you grow up with this principle, you will realise the real purpose of life.

The child kept on listening his father without blinking his eyes and putting any question in between or further. The child replied; "my dear father I am really grateful to you. I got clear vision of my life. I will keep all your saying in every endeavour of my life. Thank you so much father."

Let us pledge today to become the part and parcel of this mission rather striving for materialistic needs.
